MOVING THE GOOSE: The hard part's over - moving the HK-1 from Long Beach, California to McMinnville, Oregon. That 1,055-mile trip took place in the winter of 1993, and thousands came to watch.

TOURIST ATTRACTION: It may be in pieces, but the HK-1 is still a big tourist draw at the Evergreen Aviation campus.
THE GOOSE' NEW OWNER: An in-depth look at Evergreen International Aviation and the man behind it, Del Smith.

THE MUSEUM: First they annexed the land. Then they found out they annexed the wrong land. Then there was a problem wit the sign . . . there were a few bumps along the way, but the Captain Michael Smith Evergreen Aviation Educational Institute is going up fast.
THE RESTORATION AND THE MOVE: Building the museum is only half the battle. On the other side of the road, crews are busy restoring the HK-1 to its original glory, while museum officials make plans to move it one last time, into its new home.
